Sweet Chili-Rubbed Ribeye Steaks

Ingredients

4 boneless Ribeye Steaks (about 2 pounds), cut 1-inch thick
Rub:
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Chili Powder
2 teaspoons Coarse Ground Black Pepper
2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Salt

Directions

1. Combine rub ingredients in a small bowl.  Sprinkle rub evenly over both sides of steaks; press to adhere.  Let stand 10 to 30 minutes.

2. Heat charcoal 30 minutes until covered with a light layer of gray ash or heat gas grill on High 10 minutes with lid closed.

3. Grill steaks over Medium heat (375°F grill surface temperature) 4 to 7 minutes per side or until internal temperature of steaks reaches 140°F for Medium-Rare or 150°F for Medium doneness.  Let steaks sit 2 minutes, then serve.

*Flavor Step: for an added depth of flavor, marinate steaks in 1/4 cup bourbon whiskey before applying rub.  Place steaks in refrigerator 1 to 2 hours, then discard marinade and proceed with step #1.
