Paul Carrozza's Fitness Tips Quality of Life by Paul Carrozza

Do we really want things to be easy? If our lives are too easy we become sick, overweight, depressed and bored. Don't avoid work, embrace it. Work is about living. Work, exercising, cooking or playing with the kids are all part of the journey. Guess what? If you get going, moving and living, you will also live longer, avoid sickness, feel better and look better.

I seem to keep coming back to effort. With technology and food manufacturing efficiencies, we have eliminated the effort of the simple things in life. We can't all grow our own food, cook it or take time to eat with friends and family. We can't all walk to work, play in the park, go for a run or ride a bike -- at least not every day. But we can all get out in the fresh air and sweat a little, or a lot and go swimming on a summer day. Expending time and energy to take care of our basic needs is the secret to health. When others grow and cultivate our food and bring it to the corner grocery store, we then have to find ways to replace the work effort we once produced.

If you can integrate the little things that involve movement back into your lifestyle, you can increase your quality of life and improve your health. Sometimes our entire focus becomes exercise and dieting. I am suggesting incorporating natural activities and taking time to be in outdoors. Breathe fresh air whenever possible. Feel the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter. Eat foods that are seasonal. While you are at it, think about putting only pure foods in your body and avoiding processed foods and added sugars.

If you can get a handle on your time and make yourself a priority, you can achieve good health through improving your quality of life. Think less about exercise and more about natural movement. Think less about diet and more about enjoying whole, pure foods. Resolve to live your life with the intent to be part of nature and embrace the change of the seasons. Do more, enjoy it more and look for balance.

Live like YOU matter.
