Championship Hearts Foundation and Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas will offer free screenings for area athletes, ages 15-18, in an effort to identify Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in student athletes. Students participating in athletics, cheerleading, dance, marching band, and other strenuous activities are encouraged to take advantage of this community service.
Students must have a signed parental waiver in order to receive the screening. This form can be found at www.championshipheartsfoundation.org
There is no charge for the screening, however a suggested contribution of $15 is appreciated to help defray some of the costs and also to support the work of the Foundation.
