In general, gastric bypass can be performed only once. On rare occasions, the organ structures can be surgically revised if a patient has symptoms that need to be addressed, but the additional weight loss is only modest when compared to the original operation.

It is absolutely better to focus on good eating habits and exercise to make the operation succeed the first time and pay attention to even modest weight gain.
