Central Texas Fitness Events August 29, 2008
Races and other outdoor events are scheduled often somewhere in Central Texas. They present good opportunities to get out and do something with family and friends. Although some accommodate elite runners, most of the participants are not trained athletes. They are rather individuals taking advantage of Austin's good weather, a community-wide interest in fitness and the availability of enthusiastic community. Literally, there's something active for everyone somewhere around Austin. The following are some of the events that have come to our attention.
While most events in the list cost money, one that we want to draw your attention to is free. This Labor day, Monday, Sept. 1, is Free Day of Yoga across Austin. If you've never experienced yoga, then you owe it to yourself to take 30 - 60 minutes and stretch with some of Austin's finest teachers. It's all free and it's all good.
